Searching for fulfilment? Look no further.

Here’s the combined wisdom of my 43 years on this planet in four bullet points and a quote.

This, I reckon, is the closest I can get with any kind of certainty to fulfillment:

1. Know yourself

Truly understand who you are, where you came from, why you think and act the way you do.

2. Accept yourself

Accept what you find staring back at you in the mirror.

3. Like yourself

Not too much: not too little. Like what you are.

4. Serve others

Use what you have and who you are to be of service.

In other words:

The meaning of life is to find out what your gift is.

The purpose of life is to give it away.

Or as the great Dolly Parton put it:

“Find out who you are

and do it on purpose”.
