Inwards, onwards & upwards
A journal of invitations, ideas & inspiration to keep you moving from where you are to where you want to be
I’m finally making peace with being a polymath
Ever felt like a jack of all trades but master of none?
Your career success boils down to one key skill.
Think of your career as a series of phases—work, travel, learning, creating, mentoring—each transition is a chance to level up.
Your career isn’t a straight path, it’s a journey of reinvention. So, what’s your next move?
Change begins at home
When we talk about changing the world
what we’re really talking about is changing other people.
If you do what you did you’ll get what you got.
Do the opposite of what feels right. Because what feels right is really what feels familiar. And you will attract and be drawn to the very things you don’t want any more.
This time will not be different unless you do something different.
Often we find unhappiness lurking in the gap
The gap between how we expected things to be and how they actually are.
The gap between what the world believes to be true of us and what we know to be true of ourselves.
The gap between who we feel we should be and who we actually want to be.
So we’re faced with a choice.
The show must go on
When I started writing these newsletters in January 2023, the rule I set for myself was that they must be helpful, hopeful and true.
As you will know from last month’s message, I have been struggling recently to feel hopeful and helpful.
Letting go of judgement
As a creative, your taste is your North Star.
So why, at 43, have I decided to turn mine off?
3 Life-Changing Moments
I’ve had three life-altering theatrical experiences. Three moments in theatre that radically changed me.
Or did they?
Let me explain.
