Inwards, onwards & upwards
A journal of invitations, ideas & inspiration to keep you moving from where you are to where you want to be
Two heads are better than one
This month, I am training a new cohort of aspiring Artistic Directors and launching a new Coaching Group for aspiring Executive Directors.
Against the backdrop of a new Prime Minister, I have therefore found myself thinking a great deal about leadership.
What got you here won’t get you there
After taking a two-month break for compassionate leave, starting my Substack On Coping and raising the curtain on Act Two of my life, I’m back with words made to move you.
I hope you find them true, hopeful and helpful as you journey from where you are to where you want to be.
The show must go on
When I started writing these newsletters in January 2023, the rule I set for myself was that they must be helpful, hopeful and true.
As you will know from last month’s message, I have been struggling recently to feel hopeful and helpful.
On compassionate leave
Hello and welcome to my March newsletter.
New subscribers; thank you for signing up. Although I should say that this month’s message is unusually unprecedented. You might want to read last month’s newsletter to give you a better sense of what you can expect from me moving forward.
Because move forward I will. Eventually.
We are all a work in progress
Last month, I shared some of the different tools we can use to help us live life on purpose.
This month, I’ve been thinking about those we journey with.
Live life on purpose
At a time of year when many of us are resolving to keep promises to ourselves, pursuing and facing change or simply but mightily weathering the storm, I offer three different approaches that have helped me live life on purpose.
Find your voice
This year, I finally found my voice.
It is a series of messages, yes to you, but also to myself. Revelations or reminders to reframe my thinking and better navigate this thing we call life.
Next year, if you haven’t already, I hope you find yours.
I can’t wait to hear it.
The heart is a muscle
As those of you who read this newsletter regularly will know, I’m a big fan of 80s movies; in particular the films of John Hughes and Christopher Columbus.
My guilty pleasure is those big mindless superhero movies; chewing gum for the brain.
But by far my favourite films are the ones that make me cry…
